Some wisdom from ancient Greece:

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle

Go out and practice the habit of excellence!

I think so because how many excellent people do you know that are not at least a bit insane?

Touche! Laurie…wow, great point. There is some excellence that inherently appears to be repetitive in its result (for instance, winning awards year after year), but the journey is the difference. There are often times changes we must make along those journeys toward excellence that make each one unique rather than repetitive, even if there is some level of consistency.

Aric…I think you’re on to something!

not to question Aristotle, but habits are things we do that remain the same, which is why they’re hard to break. And the definition of insanity is to do an action repeatedly and expect a different result. In my mind excellence would be something that would mean achieving a better therefore different result every time. So if excellence is a habit with the expectation of a different result then does that then make it an insanity as well?….just a thought
