This definitely brings back memories! It's nice to see some projects utilize color, especially since we see a lot of the same common modern materials used over and over. Pops of color can really enhance both a project and a community...

Nice find!

I agree that there probably is a more realistic building material but Legos are something everyone is familiar with and I think are at least a portion of why this exhibit is getting the amount of coverage it is. I know it is why I put it on this blog.

Oh wow, this is so cool! I love Legos, so this is obviously a fascinating study...and their gigantic! I have to admit though (and maybe this is the devil's advocate in me), I wonder what the benefit of using Legos really was...I can't imagine the amount of time, money, and energy was put into these structures because of the labor needed to utilize Legos as a building material for such large structures. Wouldn't they have had a similar benefit from other materials but with a more efficient use of time? Or, was there something about Legos as a medium that brought out the significance of the study of a "porous" city? Just curious...

Regardless of the answers, this is a really neat study, and I want to see these models!

What a phenomenal time lapse video! This really shows a unique marriage of the built and natural world, and what an incredible perspective of an environment 99% of us don't get to experience. It's amazing the great strides we've made in our technology and building systems that have even given us the ability to have such a perspective on, well, the earth BELOW us! Skyscrapers are awesome...

It was a really great film but what I think was the best thing I got out of it was how beautiful stuff could be built with such a simple and patient process. The way he worked was not like how most of us work in a hurry, he just steadily worked and created amazing things out of it. Maybe just maybe instead of freaking out we need to chill out and our work will be that little bit better?

I agree that "white" is used well here because of the strategic use of black. In this case, everything is not white...the black helps to create an opposing contrast while the objects within (the pink furniture, for example) spice up the use of white.

I like the use of white in an example like this because there are other forces that create an intrigue. I think that makes the use of white more powerful and interesting.
